Ayurveda relies on a holistic, or systems approach to healing, and Ayurvedic Practitioners are educated, trained, and NAMA-certified to help stimulate the body's natural healing mechanisms. Herbal supplements are often recommended to promote your core nutrition, and can be used safely in conjunction with most synthetic medicines*. Onsite treatments more directly aim to stimulate your body's natural functions, and are profoundly relaxing experiences in and of themselves.
The Shirodhara is a profoundly relaxing treatment that calms the nervous system and integrates the mind and body. The session begins with a soothing scalp massage. It involves getting warm oil poured continuously over the forehead for about 15-20 minutes in a specific pattern. The warm oil stimulates marmas points or energy centers in the head which induces vasodilation and improves circulation. The body treatment is ultimately intended to help settle the mind, but the oil itself is very therapeutic to the skin and hair.
Reiki is actually a Japanese technique for stress reduction that also promotes spiritual healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us and is what keeps us going each day. If one's energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, our bodies and our minds are functioning more efficiently.

PanchaKarma, or PK for short, is an Ayurvedic detoxification protocol that is a serious step towards restoring your body's natural functions and removing impurities left by illness or toxins.
There are many different procedures in PK, and each is meant to purify the body of accumulated toxins and promote your body's own sustained purification. Abhyanga and Shirodhara are natural steps included in the PK protocol.
There are clear effects noticed almost immediately after a treatment, but PK requires commitment and when combined with a healthy lifestyle regimen, can take up to a month to notice deeper, more foundational health benefits.
Abhyanga is an Ayurvedic massage involving very rhythmic flow and complete oilation of the body. Using custom blended herbal oils and techniques most suitable for your condition, this deeply nourishing treatment is meant to comfort your nervous system and settle your mind using a synchronized motion-pressure approach. The session ends with a soothing scalp massage.
